Z. L. Metz Homes receives the 2007 Builder of Integrity Award - View Article
The tradition of Z.L. Metz Homes began over 30 years ago in Charleston, West Virginia with Zane L. Metz Jr.. Beginning his career in the remodeling business, he quickly added custom homebuilding to his achievements with the creation of Z.L. Metz Homes in Winchester, Virginia. From 1971, to today, the company still remains strong. In 1997 with the decision to expand, he enlisted his son, Lee, and daughter, Hollie, to carry on the family homebuilding tradition in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Today Lee and Hollie continue to build on his reputation for craftsmanship by paying close attention to detail, finding and keeping the absolute best personnel and diligent use of professional subcontractors, which enables them to uphold the ideals handed down by their father. Building homes of the best quality and treating customers in a fair and honest manner are the principals that they continue to strive to achieve.
"We believe that the key to success in the home building business is finding quality craftsmen who are able to pull together as a team... to build a home that everyone involved will be able to take pride in."
Hollie's role as office manager means that the books will be kept straight
and all administrative details will be carefully attended to. Crucial to the
company's success and the contentment of the customers, she also provides
the woman's insight with respect to design and decorating considerations.
Lee serves as superintendent and is invaluable to the Charlotte operation's
success. With a watchful eye on all aspects of each job, he insures that all
of the personnel and craftsmen are working toward the goal of completion,
not just on time, and within budget, but in a first class manner.
